The problem is that the design of a super zoom camera requires the use of a smaller imager to make use of all that zoom.

It all about IMAGER size, the electronic component on which the image is recorded within the camera. It has nothing to do with the physical size of the camera itself.

The simple reason that the F30 is better at ISO 800 and above, is that the imager size on the F-30 is considerably larger, than the imager found on the FZ-35.
