Well the 14,400ma usb batteries failed after an hour or so. It seems that they would not provide clean enough power to the Aiptek so they shut down. I tried both batteries and even made a Y adapter...

I agree with what you suggest could be the shutdown issue. I do have a couple more power supplies coming as well as a 12 volt, 7amp sealed lead...

The Sony Mic shown is stereo so I used a stereo jack and soldered the 2 forward pins together (outputs) and soldered it directly to the mic pin on the motherboard which is the one nearest the lens....

A little more info on these after using them for another week.

I discovered that you must use a 5volt, 2amp wall charger for them to run plugged in. A few of the cameras did not come with chargers...
