Once again, I agree 100% with Shoturtle-

The Olympus E-600 (cheaper) or E-620 would be a better choice than either the Canon XS/1000D or the Nikon D-3000. I own a D-3000 and it is a "dud" compared...

I would agree with Shoturtle-

The Olympus E-620 has an excellent .jpeg engine, and it does the best in-camera processing among all entry level DSLR cameras. I do not think that not having the...

It seems like rather than looking for the best camera performance, that price is now driving your search. IMO that is a recipe for camera disappointment. I would be very careful. Check...

It is your choice, of course, however, I would shy away from the Samsung NX-10 and the Nikon D-3000. IMO, because of their limitations you will soon be in the market for a new camera, and...

Koolpc-

I own a Nikon D-3000, and compared to the Canon XSi, and the Sony A-450, the D-3000 is NOT a good performer. Go for the A-450 its a great buy and in your budget.
