You're probably right with the impending release of the 2/4G... I think the xD, sD/MMC, and especially the MemoryStick($879 for 1G) folks are the ones under pressure to lower their prices now that CF...

SJMS is Right, for most consumer cameras on jpegs quality this device would be fine... Just don't expect it to go fast in dSLRs on "motordrive" mode or raw/tiff pictures...
