Virtually any currently manufactured DSLR has a large enough buffer space to shoot continuously in JPEG at 3 fps (~ 100 in 5 min.) but I'm not really sure that's what you want.

We don't insist that there is no other kind of camera, most of us also own or have owned P&S cameras and simply put even bright stage lights are generally not enough to get within a P&S's performance...

I'm not a serious birder but I suspect polarizers are not often used by birder because of one or two stops loss in light and it would difficult to adjust for BIF in any case. A CPL might be used...

Thanks. I quite agree that Oly's SG lenses pretty much set the price/performance bar for affordable (is that politically correct?) lenses. I have four of the eight and none embarrass themselves...

Thanks. Yes, museums were a major consideration with this lens. The barrel distortion is more than I expected as well but not so bothersome if you keep the straight lines away from the frame edges....
