Another interesting comment in one of the books I'm reading about the Sony DSC-RX100M3, is not related specifically to that camera but is of interest to us here.

We've all been frustrated at some...

You should also make the point that you really can put the Sony RX100MIII in your pocket. A camera that's 4.02 x 2.28 x 1.61 inches (L, W, D) with a 1", 21MP sensor and delivers the photo quality...

Hi, Steven!

I love my E5 as well. And if I am doing some serious photography that's what I enjoy using. Frankly I like the large size - it fits my large hands well. I can't see myself switching...

Hi, Harj!

For me, I was attracted by the reviews and the fact that it has a Carl Zeiss designed lens. I really see a difference in the lenses designed by Leica (on my E5) and Zeiss.

Two pro...

The times, they are a changin'

What's happening with digital cameras is astonishing. I had someone unexpectedly repay a loan, and I bought the Sony DSC-RX100M3. It's a tiny camera that fits in your pocket, but it has a 20MP...

Olympus glass is generally excellent, but I've used the 14-42mm and it is the, um, least excellent. It's fine for a starter lens but that focal range is likely to be used a lot more than the long...

I understand that Epsons are probably better for prints, but I use the Canon primarily for DVD and BD discs, for which an Epson is somewhat overkill (if you can find one that prints on discs at all)....

Canon Pixma Ink Cartridges - yours if you can use them

Hi, all

My Canon Pixma MG7120 inkjet printer (that I mostly use on printable disks) has died. I'm replacing it with a newer model, the 7720. ( I'd replace it with another 7120 but they're now way...

Thanks! We were on the 14th floor of a condominium building so it was a good vantage point.

I have 3 Leica 4/3 lenses for the E-5, that I really love. I have too much invested in 4/3 glass to...

Timing Is Everything

Including going to the beach when a tropical storm is offshore. That would be Hermine last week, when we had a vacation house already rented for a week. Fortunately it had moved far enough offshore...

Got a Grab & Go Camera

I've been busy and haven't been doing much photography in quite a while. I realized that since there's not much to shoot at my house, I've been unnecessarily married to only carting my Oly E-5...

Nice one, Steven!

Many years ago I lived out in the country and there was a homeless cat that hung out in the hood. One weekend morning when I was sitting outside it walked up to me with a field...

We received a little snow in the DC area yesterday

Should you be unfamiliar with automobile types, the one on the left is a Volvo XC70, Honda Accord on the right.

(Yes, those are the rear view mirrors. 30" snowfall total.)

The C-8080 reminded me that the Oly engineers are really good. When they brought out the E-10/20 they created a pair of conversion lenses for it, one wide angle and one telephoto, that together...

I've always had to buy the Elite version and upgrades for the E-5.

I looked up your DxO posts in the m4/3 forum. Good information. Most of my photography is a bunch of shots of events, where...

Hi, Greg! Yes I am a Smugmug user. I'd appreciate the advice.

PS: I'm a huge fan of Smuugmug, for their excellent Helpdesk and because they give a free account to any 501.c.3, a business model...

I'm enjoying the C-8080 although I haven't shot a lot yet. The E-5 is excellent and its f/2 glass is superb but altogether they're really heavy to lug around. I have a Panny L-1 that's lighter but...

Why I love DxO Optics for photo editing

Besides doing a better job than Photoshop, it's easier to use and way less expensive (it's a photo editing app, not a general graphics editing app that also edits photos). But if you do architectural...

This forum has been quiet but a lot of us are still using our 4/3 gear. I think that's partially because we have a lot invested in it, and partially because no one is likely to get a sharp image...
