After popping up the card, I use my middle finger...

After popping up the card, I use my middle finger and thumb "lobster claw" fashion to grasp the sides of the card below the corners and pull it up. Works easily every time. :)

Best way is by the shape of the end of the tail - square in the Sharp-shinned, and rounded in the Cooper's. You can see enough of the tail to tell that all of the feathers are not of the same...
