I read that the sd 14 uses an identical contact system between body and lenseto canon, i also read that it is possible to change the lense mounting plate on the sd14 to a canon plate however when i clicked on the link that suggested this i ended up on a web site that was all in chinese/japanese or similar, in other words it was all dutch to me.

So i would like to ask if any one has any info on this, or are themselves using their canon lenses on the sd14.

I've read that too...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sigma_SA_mount

To get the mechanical adapter might be the problem as the electronics and the flange distance are the same - I saw other people did this: http://www.pbase.com/crea7or/phototech

You may have to buy a cheap lens just to re-cycle/re-tool its mount and dispose of the rest! :O

Yes, but only manual focus FL and FD mount versions. Its a lot easier to convert each individual Canon FL or FD mount lens to an SA compatable mount, eg: M42 mount, PK mount or of course SA mount, than it is to convert the SD14 to EF mount.
I've converted the FL 55mm f1.2 and FD 85mm f1.2 L to SA mount.

Actually is 101% possible as its already been done!...Some guy in Japan sucessfully converted his SD14 to EF mount.
However, its a whole lot easier to convert each indiviual EF lens to SA mount that it is to convert the SD14 to EF mount.
