Hi all...your help would be appreciated..

Have used firewire cable for 2 yrs, bought a laptop which only has usb ports...

Tried to connect camera, but to no avail. Drivers are correct and up to date etc..

One interesting thing though...when I power up the camera, it momentarily says "camera connected...No CF Card (even though there is one there)" in Photo Pro, but then disconnects...

Any info or tips? Many thanks in advance...

PS>>>What a great site steve!

It may be that the port on your laptop is USB 2 and the camera may be USB 1, or the other way round. If you just want to load your pics onto the laptop get a PCMCIA CF Card Reader, it'll just be like having another disc drive.

Hope this helps.

The Sigma cameras have USB 1.1, not USB 2. Don't even bother to transfer images from the camera to your PC via the USB connection. "Painfully slow" doesn't begin to describe how slow the tranfer time is. Buying a CF card reader is the only option if you can't use a Firewire connection with the camera.
