I am trying to make a remote control for the R1. Does anyone know the pinouts for the 2.5mm acessory jack?

The ACC port on Sony digital still and video cameras (LANC) is a serial communications port. Be VERY careful what you connect to it, as you run the possibility of frying your camera.
For more info on the ACC/LANC port, see here: http://www.pixcontroller.com/ follow the link to Universal Camera Controller |

Thank you for the advice. I shall not connect the remote to the camera until I can be absolutely certain what the correct connections are.
Strangely, the Canon XT Rebel and Pentax 1st Cameras have an identical 2.5mm connection and I have found the correct terminal arrangements for those, but I've had no luck finding the Sony R1 arrangement. I shall keep on looking. |

You are welcome. Here is a good and relatively cheap ACC/LANC remote control:
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/cont...ughType=search This does work with the R1 (I have it), plus it will work with Sony camcorders. |

The Giottos looks good. It beats trying to mess around trying to build something.
I could not locate this from a UK supplier so I have ordered it from the site you directed me to. It works out as excellent value when the US dollar cost is converted to GB pounds. Thanks again. |
