My question is just in regards to the memory capacity of the Sony DSC-W1. I just ordered this awesome camera and a 1GB Memory Stick Pro card. It works great, and takes awesome pictures. I was messing with the video mode on it as well, and definitely camcorder quality. At full VGA 30fps mode it only can do 12mins on a 1GB Card. I was wondering if this camera will accept a 2GB Memory Stick so I can get a good 24mins on it. On reviews it says it is only tested at 1GB but I was just wondering if a 2GB card would work before I purchase it. Thanks ahead of time, and for the good review on this site for the camera.

Hi Synapze,
I am interested in getting the W1, but I've been reading people in some forums complaining about the pictures being soft and lacking details. But you seemed to be pleased with the W1's performance... Did you try the W1 in low light conditions? How did those pictures come out? Also, does the lower LCD resolution bother you? Is it OK? I had the T1 and loved the LCD. Also, I only saw up to 1GB memory stick on Sony's website...I didn't know they have the memory stick higher than that. Thanks. |

I think there is no 2GB Memory Stick yet available. So they cant test the W1 with it.

I got mine today from www.compuplus.com for $472 + 14.95 for 2nd Day Air UPS (486.95). I put it into my DSC-W1 and it recognized it with no problems. It even showed that I could take 810 pictures at 5 megapixels on Fine setting. I'll post a new thread about it's specs.
