on the DSCW1there is a way to choose the image size.

it goes from 5M to 3:2 to 3M to 1M to VGA

I understand all except the 3:2.. what is it and what will it do? what will be the megapix. count on the 3:2 image? will it

still be 5 megapix o is it getting less?

Hi- i think 3:2 is the size ratio between the sides - so 3:2 horizontal:vertical (16:9 is widescreen). It will also be 5 megapixels.

This format is ready for 10x15 cm printing without cropping and white strips. For example, directly to printer via PictBridge.

The pixel count is about 4.5 MP - I have a P10 and thats what it is there. Sony is one of the few that use the highest resolution for 3:2.

its a pre-sized format for 4x6 inch prints. the standard resolutions are more appropriate for screen display than printing.
