Hi, Can You tell me something about this cam ?
I'm looking for a compact and average image quality cam (My first) without pay too much for it... I've found it at 200 euro. Which ate the main differences beetwen LS 1 and S40 ? Thanks ! |

The S40 has manual control. The flash diameter is greater. Cmaera, though, not as compact.

And in terms of image quality how can it be considered ?
For example how if compared with Nikon Coolpix 5900 ? |

There are samples in the site. Do a match. I've seen CP7900 pics. Depends what you are looking for in quality points.

I'm a novice and truly I'm not able to well evaluate the image quality... :O
I think that the colors of Nikon are better than those of Sony but... |

I have the DSC-L1 4mp and keep it in my car in case something would come up that's worth shooting , it does a great job for such a small camera.

For the moment I've to choose between these entry-level cameras:
Sony DSC L1 (199 euro) Nikon Coolpix 4600 (169 e. with 128 mb included) Fuji A345 (149 euro) Which one is the "best" ? I've read the reviews but I'm undecided again... |

I don't know about the other cameras you mentioned, but I had an L1 for a little while and was pretty happy with it. It's an excellent camera for the price; metal body, hybrid display, info-lithium battery system, pretty sharp lens and good color accuracy for being so tiny. The only negative things I found with the camera that bothered me was the lack of any kind of manual focus and a fairly weak flash.
