Well, I photographed my first hummingbird of the summer today.
Boy, are they ever scarce around here. Used my old H2. 400 mm @sp 1/500th. Wish I had used a bit faster shutter to stop the wings though.... Jim |

I know what you mean Jim. I recently got this one at Mobile Bay.

OK, cb401. Nice shot. It lookslike yours is same
species as mine. (Ruby throat). Yes, it takes about 1/1000 sec to stop the wings. I did it last year but haven't seen many this summer. Still looking though. Jim |

Well, Jim, I did manage to get one shot with the wings stopped:-). Photo is very enlarged with some loss of detail.

Hi cb401. Nice setting shot of the hummingbird. I am going to
try a different camera today and try to get one at rest also. They are pretty active here right now so should be able to do it. Jim |
Nice Jim, I looked all summer and not seen one off these yet.

Ok Cyber, well, they re pretty active right now here in central Illinois. Just one species but I can see them everyday. I have more time than anything else, so I set
on my patio and watch my three feeders. Exciting, huh? Jim |
