Any Sony WX-1 Users Yet?

The new Sony WX-1 has been on the market for about 3 weeks now, and the first professional review has been completed at www.imaging-resource.com.

The WX-1 incorporates a number of rather unique features, and as it is priced almost $100 less than the Canon S-90, another impressive compact, hopefully we will begin to see some users and photo samples.

There has not been much activity in the Sony folder lately. So hopefully this will encourage some new postings. Have a great day.

So I guess it is up to me-

I am the very first Sony WX-1 user. My WX-1 camera arrived late this afternoon thanks to UPS. I will post a sample photo tomorrow.

Hi there, Folks-

Here is the promised WX-1 photo sample. I will get out once again, in the morning, if possible to take what I would call a normal outdoor photo. All in all I am truly impressed with the Sony WX-1 camera.

Hi Sarah, look forward to see how you go with your WX1.

Sarah, please post 100% crops as the point it so show quality and we can't tell anything with a web reduced shot.

Amazon had some pretty unhappy people concerning normal daylight conditions for this camera. Will be interesting to see what you think Sarah.

I thought I might like it since it seemed to be a small camera with the same neat features as the HX1 and also low light but the reviews I saw were disappointing.

I really like Sony features but can't see spending good money if the image quality is not up to snuff, especially for normal shot conditions.

BTW - clicked on your link and it somehow is not pointing to the right place. It left out the dash in the actual URL between imaging and resource.

I put the dash back in the URL and got there fine. Just thought I would mention it.

Lets see if this works :

Joe-

Here is another photo. But it too, was taken indoors as we have had a lot of rain this week.

I was interested to see what the 24mm position could do on the zoom, to try to determine how powerful the built-in flash unit was, and to check for barrel distortion.

So here is the photo sample. The 24mm wide angle position is impressive, but it is not without some barrel distortion. The built-in flash did well at 15 feet from my husband, Bradley. The DRO was in normal, and the WX-1 selected F 2.4 at 1/30th with the ISO set to ISO 200.
