I just bought my first digicam, a Sony DCS-P71, which seems to have a problem. The battery indicator on the LCD screen always remains white, indicating that the batteries are fully discharged when instead they're fully charged. Is this a typical error with this model (I've had quirky and pretty much useless battery indicators on other digital devices), or should I exchange it?

Try another different battery... Sometime the Infolithium system goes out of whack and need to be reset.

Then it's a bad contact between the camera and its batteries then since the managed 'info' from the batteries did get to the camera.
Exchange the camera would be my advise... (or bring the batteries to the store and try them on different Sony's cameras. BTW that's odd... Usually fully white means they are fully charged, and a blank rectangle means they are fully discharged. [Edited on 6-18-2002 by NHL] |
