I have my Sony Cybershot DSC-P51 for 14 months now and it was working great until last week. The LCD screen suddenly went black during capturing still images and movie. The menus and previous pictures saved on memory can be view clearly. I wrote to Sony and they wanted me to ship it to their service center for repair with charge.
I found several complaints on the web with the same abrupt malfunction of the LCD during shoot mode. This is definitely a factory defect! Does anyone have the same experience? I took out the batteries and memory stick and reset the camera. Waited the next day to try it on again and miraculously it worked. I saw a post with the same problem but the guy was able to solve his problem by slightly tapping the lens. Therefore, I dont think it is the reseting that helped solve the problem. I'm very skeptical that my digital camera will be usable for the period of time worth its price. My solution is only temporary. |
