After doing some research, this appears to be a fairly common problem... My Sony DSC-W1 got dropped on New Years eve and now the lens won't retract as its stuck at a bad angle (the outer piece is at around a 15 degree angle)... I brought it to the authorized repair shop here in St. Louis and the guy told me I could replace it for less than he could fix it...

I really like this camera and want to get it fixed so I search on e-bay for a replacement lens and found a camera being sold for parts that probably has a good lens... Anyone have any idea how hard it is to swap out a lens? Or fix the one I have?

In the same area, I found a co that does repairs, fastcamera.com, at a fixed cost and is well rated, they quoted me $125 + 7 shipping for the fix which ain't bad. Anybody have experience with these guys or opinions?

What should I do?
