Is there another cable you can get instead of the Sony VMC-MHC2 cable.
Maybe hdmi to hdmi? thanks |

The H20 has no hdmi output, so (as I know) there are only 2 ways to connect the h20 on a TV:
- the standard cable for standard resolution - the VMC-MHC2 cable for high resolution, but you need component connectors on your TV maybe there is a converter component/hdmi, I'm not sure but I think it's not possible |

Welcome to the Forum, -French and Mystrat-
But you, -French, are incorrect. The Sony H-20 does indeed have an HDMI socket. Mystrat, the Sony brand HDMI cable is IMO overly priced. When I was in Walmart yesterday, I did see accessory HDMI cables. If I recall correctly they were priced at $13.95 or $14.95. I really don't recall exactly. I hope that helps. Sarah Joyce |

Hello Sarah
May be you confuse with the HX1, but the H20 (I own one) has only a multifunction connector, and no hdmi output. But despite the standard cable (included in the box) give lower resolution and is a bit less convenient (and sometime too short), the quality on TV is however correct |

thanks all...I decided to buy the HX1 instead (partly due to the HDMI).
I'm hoping the image quality is good, I really only want to shoot 5"x7" prints nothing bigger... |

I hesited long enough between the H20 and the HX1 too, but finaly get the H20 because smaller and cheaper.
The HX1 has more very good features with quite good image quality too, but his small Cmos sensor is a bit noisy, forcing Sony to increase, first the noise-reduction process, and the sharpness process too, which give some loss of fine details and some strange artifacts too in full resolution. But I know there are several ways to improve image quality if you learn to use it. Anyway I think you'll have no problem to shoot good 5"x7" prints ![]() Last edited by -French-; Dec 13, 2009 at 10:29 AM. |

I am planning on buying the H20 this weekend, again... but not knowing what I need to access the HD videos is really disturbing. ![]()
