I would like to disassemble this camera and have alreadytaken tentative steps to do so.

There are 4 Phillips head screws visible externally:

bottom, left (inside Memory Stick Pro bay opening)

bottom, right(adjacent to Sony model number / serial number label)

side, right, towards rear(closest to zoom control)

top, left, towards rear

I have managed to get the case to open slightly verticallyon the right-hand side, however, experience dictates that I go no further without some guidance as the left-hand side does not seem to want to separate - something elseseems to beholding the left-hand case halves together firmly.

Any thoughts? Has anyone been here / done this before?

For what purpose do you want to open your camera?

In general, I doubt that there are any servicable parts. And, you would likely void your warranty, if you are still in your warranty period.

I would suggest you contact the manufacturer to obtain the price to completely re-urbish your camera. It may be worth while to do so.

I would be interested as well to know why you are tearing it apart.

Hey ... thanks for the interest folks ...

My purpose is to expose the innards to more air ...following full fresh water immersion of the unit -powered off. I do not want to risk powering it up again unitl I am satisfied it has completely dried out - then we'll see what's what. I fear the unit may be fooked, but, my approach is worth a shot I guess.

FYI - the camera is definatelyout of warranty, having been purchased APR04.

Cool find for the tear apart. Looks like it might be new camera time with it getting soaked.
