just got a a dsc-s60 with a cracked lens(screen). any tips on fixing it. checked on ebay couldn't find lcd's on sale. any tips will be highly appreciated.

Wish I had one for you but I dont sorry. You can buy one from Sony but I think it will be about $120.

You need to open the camera and get the numeric part number from it, not one that starts AX.... that number doesnt seem to work most times. Plug the number into the search box on this page:

wow! a screen for $120, i got the camera on ebay for $60, it works fine only you can see half the picture because of the cracks. i will look around and if all else fails i will get the part from sony! thanks all the same!

I had a DSC-W1 (with the 2.5" screen). I cracked the screen on July 4th. I had the camera in my pocket and was walking and a metal pipe resting on a bench (which I did not see) hit my pocket directly in the center of my camera's screen. It cracked the LCD, the camera was totally unusable.

I replaced the camera w/ a Sony H1 and have been very happy. Also the larger size of the H1 prevents me from putting the camera in my pocket and thus walking into a metal pipe portruding from a bench again!! Actually I also puchased a nice "lowpro" case for my H1, it has lot's of padding... it's a little bulky but at least I won't break the camera again.
