Hello,
I purchased a DSC-WX9 a year ago off of Ebay since my older Cybershot had been sent to Sony for repairs, except when I got it back, it wasn't fully functional. Anyway, that's another post. So the WX9 has been great except a few weeks ago I took some pics outside at a playground and the images were over exposed. The weather was cloudy overcast. Today, in sunshine, I tried all the shooting modes and even tried changing the exposure setting to the darkest one. The outside images are still washed out and overexposed. If I shoot inside, away from natural lighting, the images look normal. Like with the exposure setting on darkest, the images come out dark as I would expect. Can anyone tell me if I need to get the camera repaired or is there a setting or a reset mode I'm missing? The camera was not dropped or bumped to my knowledge. Thanks. |

You can try to reset the cam by going into menu rest only the camera default, and not the whole cam. It is identical to the HX9 and up.
When weather is not to par and you shoot to the sun te pic is off. could that be one issue you are having.

G'day SB
It could also be a sign of a sticky shutter ... it's going slow, but indoors is doesn't matter so much as outdoors, where any slowness soon shows up via over-exposed images Regards, Phil
