F717 - Low on contrast?

I have been using my F717 for a little over a month, and while I'm generally happy with the image quality, I find that the majority of the pictures are too low on contrast and need to have the contrast boosted on my computer before they look right. I know one of the criticisms of the camera is that it doesn't have a contrast control. I didn't think it would be a problem, because my P31 doesn't have a contrast control, but I don't find most of the pictures to require adjustment.

Do any other F717 owners have this problem?

Here's a sample

That's not the most flagrant example of it, but I like the pic. :D

Is there anybody out there?

hi there,

First I was, and am, very happy with my sony F707.
But taking photo's for over one year now, i have noticed the same.
Most of them look grey, sort of blur over it. After some auto-correction with compu-pic pro the photo's look a bit more vivit.

On certain circumstaces the balance is okay, but why and how, i haven't find out yet.
Good luck, and we have to keep adjusting on the pc.

Greetings Fillip

Hey, thanks for your reply.

It's good to know that there's someone else out there having the same problem, but at the same time, it's disturbing that I never read or heard anything anywhere about the camera having contrast issues. I'm still not convinced it isn't an anomaly only found in a few specific cameras. Ultimately, it's not a big problem, since the photos can easily be fixed in post-op, but it's troubling to have to do it, since I don't have to with pictures from my low-end P31.
