Hello All,

This shot was set up in less than 15 seconds with my H9:

Thank goodness for Volunteer Firefighters.

They liked the image.

Very nice - as are the other photos you've posted.Which mode did you use to take this photo? I'm assuming it was not the auto mode??

This camera is really starting tointerest me. I'm tired of lugging my DSLR around and want something lightweight and small enough to fit into my purse. I've read about the"issues" with the H9, but I've also seen some very wonderful photos. I'm sure I would need my DSLR for indoor basketball games (very poorly lit gym), but the H9 seems like it could do everything else.

Thank you for posting your photos.

Hi Karen,

Glad you liked my group portrait. Thank you for your comment on my pics.

I believe it was Aperture Priority, with flash on, my usual setting for people.

For people I like the light of fill flash.

I don't think the H9 will fit in a 'purse' ( for evening gown ), but it will fit a typical'handbag'.

I can't say how the H9 would work in an indoor gym (yet). One think about dark gyms is the light usually comes from high above, which creates Raccoon eyes for the players when shot with no flash.

If you could select one far end of the court, pre-focus on the players at a point which they are running toward you ( and the basket ), you will likely get good lighting on their faces from the ceiling. With the H9 you can zoom in close while stayng far enough away from the players to have the ceiling light brighten their faces, once you find a good vantage point for this.

Of course you can do thiswith a DSLR, if you have one.
