Default High noise levels at all ISO's?????

I am attaching 2 images taken with my new H70. One was at ISO80 and the other at ISO200. Both were equally cropped to about 100%. The only post processing was identical sharpening of both images to enhance any noise. Reduction of image size to 1024 pixel size limitated by forum was also adhered to. My conclusion does not concur with Steve's that high levels of noise occur at all ISO settings. The fact is that the H70 produces images that closely match those produced by my Sony A200. The color purity is spot on as well.

24mm f2.8 Minolta Maxxum

They look good 'n clean to me.

Maybe the camera he tested was defective.

On second viewing I can see the noise, especially around the hands and cheek areas. Did you sharpen them? I've found the shots from my Sony seldom need sharpened.

Clearly the bottom one's cleaner, though the top one isn't too bad....
Maybe you could upload the unsharpened ones..?
