HVL-F32X & 828

Can Someone please explain what Modaes A & B are, what they actually do, and what are best to use for the 828?

Do I Select AF illuminator on or High on the flash, if so, what seeting do I sent on the camera, isn't the camera's better?

Any feedback, hints, etc.. would be greatly appreciated as both manuals very very basic at best.
