Above macro pictures are freehand with freehand-Raynox150. It's better to make a provisorium - or to pay € 35 for Jens-Faerber's adapter (or $8 for a Chinese one).

HX100 has no macro funtion in menu - it makes macro automatically - from 0 cm / front lens.

I am looking to buy a high-end bridge cam, and am considering both your model and DonalDuc's model. I am a fairly novice photographer, and thus use camera 99% in "auto". However, since I retired I am traveling more and want a long-zoom bridge cam. Do you mind telling me why you picked the Pan FZ40? When did you buy it? Would you strongly recommend your camera? Now that you have seen DonalDuc's fantastic Sony HX100 pixs, how would you say the two cams compare in quality of pixs, ease of use (since all/most of the Sony's were hand held.
Thanks for any info and opinion you care to give me in my search for an excellent, versatile, and fairly easy-to-use camera. Robbie |
