Congratulations on your H9.
You will enjoy it. I do. May I suggest you shoot a bit under exposed. You won't believe how well it avoids burned highlights once you open the images in Photoshop, Etc. And I like to keep my focus point on the center point and focus on my subject and then lock it and then re-compose. Good shooting and keep those images coming. Regards, Nicholas |

Nick is right on the money-
The H-9 tends to clip highlights big time. Therefore, it is best used at -0.3 or -0.7 EV to get your best photos. The same is true with the Olympus E-510 DSLR camera. Give it a try. You might like it. Sarah Joyce |

Nice shots, particularly the moon.
The H1 (very first of the H series) already had the over exposure issue. If you've read the White Paper, Alan also suggested decreasing the H1exposure by 0.3 or 0.7. Always keep in mind that you can easilyrecover under exposed details but not over exposed. |

I just got my new H-9. It's being used in a corporate setting -- ID photos, group gatherings, product shots, insurance damage claims, etc.
One thing I can't figure out is how to delete photos from the camera internal memory (32 MB) while connected using the USB cable using Windows? If I try to delete the pictures, Windows tells me the disk is write protected and cannot delete the files. Can anyone tell me how to remove write protection from the H-9 internal memory? I can delete files directly from the camera, but not from a computer using the USB interface. Thanks! |

Thanks for reminding me my H9 has an internal memory.
I forgot all about it and never use it. It sounds like windows does not recognize it as a drive the way windows recognizes the MS Duo stick. Nicholas |

Nicholas, thanks for the reply. It sure appears you are correct.
For the ways we use our H-9, the 32-meg internal memory is sufficient. I was considering theaddition ofa memory stick in the near future. It seems now I have an added justification. Thanks! |
