You will see no image quality difference between the W1 and W5, as far as I see the W5 will be slightly slimmer than the W1 with a little better flash. Technology advancementswith digital cameras (as well as all electronics)is never ending.

If you are getting it at the same price, then it's probably worth the trade up.
Butthe W5will retain the current SRP ($350) of the older model, while the W1 will get discounted down to $250-300 Hopefully the W5 has all theimprovements people asked for in the W1... but checking SonyStyleat http://www.sonystyle.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/en/-/USD/SY_DisplayProductInformation-Start?ProductSKU=DSCW5&Dept=dcc_DIDigitalCamer as&CategoryName=dcc_DIDigitalCameras_Cyber-shotDigitalCameras indicates these differences: 2.5" LCD resolution dropped from 123K to 115K pixels 32MB built-in memory instead of a free 32MB memory stick Replaced access door for MS and A/V with rubber cover Updated picture package (v1.6 vs 1.0) |
