Ziess has officially announced a series of their fantasitc SLR lenses in the Nikon F mount. Now Nikon users will discover what Sony/Zeiss users have known for a while and, all of us who love the look of Zeiss lenses can now have another digicam option to consider.

To the best of my knowledge, the Zeiss lens are completely manual. This will limit their appear to the more serious dedicated photographer, not the Sunday shooter's with a D50. Probably cost more than the D50 too. LOL.

More than that. The lenses are really designed ONLY for the most advanced (and expensive) Nikon SLR models...the D2X, D200 and the F6 film SLR. The price will make sure that the casual snapshooters probably won't be interested. On lesser Nikon bodies, the lenses will not meter since they lack the necessary chip.
