lense adapters
 

anyone use these on their cameras, i have not used mine much, as its kind of annoying to lug around especially when on camera, will i get any better photos with it on, i really don't see any diference but then again have not used it much since i bought my H50, i'm guessing its for bright days?

That's a Petal Shaped Lens hood.

It's designed to keep light from the front element of the lens, which can cause flare and loss of contrast from flare. It's a good idea to use one.
