Hello All,

I realized the thread title for my conclusion did not indicate 'conclusion'.

For those still looking for my H9 review conclusion please read this thread ( of course, only here at Steves-Digicams ):

Please place you comments, etc. on that thread for continuity purposes.

Thank you.

Great personal review of H9. How can I not buy one! Thanks for all your review info and opinions. Now I'll go back and view your test pics-again.

I've signed up specifically to thank you Nick for your many posts, comments and opinions which I have read with great interest.

I have been waiting (impatiently) for the H9 to become available here and for trusted reviews to trickle in. I once made the mistake of *not* waiting for those trusted reviews and suffered the consequences...

The camera is now available but I'm hesitant as to whether to order it or wait, or look at alternatives - only I don't want to give up another 3 days of my life stuck to the screen devouring alternative reviews just yet! I'd researched the H7 and was very keen to go for it, but thought I'd wait for the H9 to come out. It has and opinions vary. Drat!

I'm keen on it for fast action shots (eg catching my dogs running & leaping) and the powerful zoom for birds & wildlife.

Curiously, the remote control is a feature that I rteally love. My Canon G5 (and previously G3) has one and I find it extremely useful - it is a real plus for me and I've missed having it on other cameras. I wish manufacturers would include it more often!

Thanks again for your prolific and painstaking posting! Much appreciated! :-)

Welcome to Steves-digicams St. Iletto.

Sincere thanks for your very kind words.

By the way, you mentioned the Remote, I developed an easy and effective way to shoot the H9 from the rear of the camera. It is just fantastic, especially when using my Sling Shot method.

I will post a new thread to provide the details in a new thread after Memorial Day Holiday weekend.

Thank you,
