![]() This has a revolutionary, game-changing auto-focusing system for video with full 1080p and fantastic still image shooting plus a microphone input jack for stereo audio. This is now my #1 sub-$1,000 pick. No, it's not an inexpensive hybrid, but wouldn't it be great if the hybrids could do what this does? |

Even the SLT-A33 model -- $750 with lens -- looks amazing:

The low light performance is shown in photos only - videos are something different, though. Not that I say they can compete with a DSLR, but Samsungs HMX H200 has quite a low-light-performance for video, and for photos, the Fuji F70EXR has some impressive capabilities, too; its dynamic range mode is amazing and works with shooting movement as it takes the different photos at the same time at half the resolution. The Sony works different and takes the photos in short time distances, if I'm not mistaken.
Those both devices together just cost around 500 bucks now and are easier to "always carry with you". But then, a DSLR has much more possibilities to play with the subjects of your photos around with and plays in a different league. |
