Hello!

I am trying to take a close up photo of a gold coin and want the detail to show and have been totally Unsuccessful darn it! I could do this with my old DSC-S50 but cannot figure out which settings to use on my new camera. I have spent about 3 hours searching online and have not been able to find answers. Glad to have found this forum!!

If you can help I will really appreciate it but please beware that I will need detailed instructions if you can.

Close-up photos require that the camera be switched to the Close-Up or Macro mode so that the camera can focus on a subject that is quite close to the camera lens. I do not own the S-750 camera, but the symbol for that Close-Up or Macro Mode is a small tulip.

Capturing excellent detail in the Macro Mode is assisted if you have some cross lighting. So that is the general assist I can provide. I will go see if I can find a professional review of the Sony S-750 with good photos and I will see if I can describe to you in more specific terms, step by step, what you must do.

The closest review I could find was for the Sony S-700. As you can see from the attached photo, the Macro or Close-Up Mode is selected by pressing the 4 way controller in the 3 o'clock position.

Thank you Sarah Joyce! I will play around with the Macro setting on and see what happens. Sorry I didn't get back to you before now . . I thought I had my setting set to notify me of replies but I didn't.

I will let you know what I figure out.
