Hello,

Fomer user and still owner of my F-828. I bought the F-828 as soon as it came out and shortly thereafter, everyone else introduced a camera with a 3 color version of the F-828's chip.

Has anyone read / heard of this happening with Sony'sR-1 chip?

Right now I am in a holding pattern with my new S9000, as an upgrade to my F-828. That bigger R-1 chip looks interesting, but I am not crazy about the R-1's reported performance ( based only on reading the web).

Regards, Nicholas

It's being mumbled the R1 may just be a prelude to Sonys ambitions on their cooperation with KM, i.e. some kind of KM body with Sony sensoris coming. Possibly a DSLR but maybe even without a mirror but an improved EVF?

cheers, nymano.
