I'm picking up this camera today and will be taking lots of pictures w/ it on vacation next week. I'd like ask what settings do you use in M-Mode and P-mode for most of your shots? What do you suggest for outdoor shots with lots of sun and low light indoor shots? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanx in advance.

Look around this forum, you'll find all the settings you'll need. BTW Outdoors, AUTO works fine.

Most of my non-flash shots are done in "P" mode with the focus set to "centered" or "spot" and the metering set to centered. This allows the subject to be focused on and exposed correctly. Using the "green" mode relies on the camera to determine where the subject is and it doesn't always get it right. For flash shots I recommend the "M" mode with the shutter set to 1/100 or no less than 1/60, 2.8 aperture and use the "+" setting for the flash. I don't recommend using the telephoto for flash shots unless the subject is very close.
