Juice, I'm not good at photography, so you may laugh at my question, however, how are you making your picture appear almost like a 35mm camera with large background blur and something else I can't put my finger on. Are you in the P or Manual modes, or simply auto with macro? Thanks,

13qe244, first, nice picture. I like how you were able to capture the 747 behind the fountain.
As for how I got the background to blur I just took the shot in P mode, with Multi Metering & Multi AF, as well as Macro. I've only had this camera a few weeks & I'm still learning, always adjusting different settings trying to see what works best. I'm still relatively new at this. & reading these message boards has helped me out alot. |

Whisperin Squash/Dick,
Thanks for sharing the photos, please keep them coming. They are excellent examples of W1 shots. Now, I'll have to get out and shoot some more myself !!!! Regards Mark. |

Wonder if we could also get to see shots that did not turn out too well? I mean, most of you'll seem so professional (I'm getting that feeling after seeing those pictures) that you'd probably there is noise at the edges and all that, but to me ... I don't seem to notice any kind of problems with photos posted by many around here!
I'm absolutely zero when it comes to photography and to me white balance and the like makes lil sense. In fact, I've not really noticed blur on sample photos that claim to have blurs ... maybe its my eyes, but yeah, you get the idea. Help prospective buyers by showing us even those which don't look too good. pleaseee Cheers |

Pararasee,
Thank you for the wonderful comments! I think the Real Beauty here is all these different people from Scottland, Puerto Rico, Canada, the US, India, and Anywhere else can share some of their lives via photos to millions of people. All because of v8griff's idea and the Sony W1. So, enought Phi.101, just take some pictures of what interests YOU and send them along. Who knows where this will go? Mark, is that your car? Later, Dick |

Well here's one of my first attempts at a night shot. Be gentle I'm learning.

Hi Dick.
Yep, I do have one of these cars but mine is silver, I've used this picture because there is a size limit on avatars........ Here is a pic (taken when the sun had gone down). |
