Well its 40 years to today John Browns ship yard upper clyde launched the now famous QE2. I can just about remember it being showed on the TV news back in 1967 of cource we only had black and white tv then. Today she sailed back in for her 40th birthday . Unfortunately it was pouring with rain and i could not get up close to her(tell me something new there i her you say) due to where she was moored and i guess security nowadays. So the photos i took were at full zoom and through pouring rain not to good but i am glad i have seen her before she goes of to Dubai to become a floating hotel

Gary-

The QE II is quite a lady. I have done more than a few Camera Workshops aboard her. Have a great day.

I liked the first shot but I thoughtit needed a bit more contrast and color. So, I played with it (hope you don't mind).

Thanks everyone for your comments style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #000080"Tullio no i dont mind at all i think its fantastic result you would actually think the sun came out which is pretty unusual here in Scotland it was shot through very fine rain at 15x zoom. Out of interest what software do you use

I used Picasa. It has its limitations but it's free and easy to use. Great for quick fixes such as this. The only thing I really don't like about Picasa is its sharpening tool because there is no way to control the amount of sharpening you want to apply. Thus, most of the time it sharpens the image too much. Other than that, it's a pretty handy tool.
