I use the Panasonic fz7 and the Canon s3is but some arenas call them pro cameras and have problems with you using them , so i bought this for concerts as its smaller i think it coped well with the concert enviroment .

Thanks for posting some excellent photos, Jeanette-

I am also a H-3 user and have really enjoyed this fine little camera. Your concert shots were beautiful. Were they existing light photos, or did you use flash. One more question, please, how far away were you from the stage.

I also like macro shots as well. I have attached a simple existing light photo taken right at our restaurant table.

hi i used the advanced sports setting so no flash at all as you know that setting disables the flash .

Iwas around 25 feet back and near the end of the stage so looking side on withpeople jumping aroundme lol .

I think the colours for an arena concert photo are pretty good , and the fact that is is not an slr camera , im going to see the Backstreet boys with my daughter so will post some more then.

Like your macro shot too

Hello Jeanette-

Yes, I am indeed a Sony H-3 user. I believe that your concert photos were excellent. I always manage to learn a bit more about the rather amazing H-3, through excellent tips, such as yours, Jeanette.

Thank you very much.

jeanette62-

The Sony H-3 is a new camera to me (in the last two weeks). My investigations have thus far, have been limited to testing the amazing flash range of the H-3.

I am a Profesional Digital Camera Instructor who teaches on cruise ships around the world. We leave on a 90+ day contract tomorrow (26 April), and I will be taking the Sony H-3 with me to learn more about its real capabilities.

I have attached a photo of my husband with one of our grand children. The H-3 allowed me to stand back out of the photo area (about 18 feet). Then using the extraordinary zoom/flash range of the H-3 I was easily able to capture the attached photo.
