Taken just before the sun disappeared, after a Florida thunderstorm. Used my sorry ole H9.

OK, yesterday I won an eBay auction for a Sony V3. The seller shipped it today so with a little luck, I may get it by Saturday. I bought this at the expense of the FZ18 that I just sold. From what I've been reading the F818, R1 and the V3 are considered some of the bestcameras ever made. In a way, going from an 18x zoom down to 4x and from ISO 3200 down to 800 sounds like a downgrade to me. If the V3 was a 4 MP camera, I don't think I'd have gone for it. In any case, I can't wait to get my hands on itand verify thatthe AF is as fast and accurate (even in very low light conditions)as people claim it is. We'll see!

Tullio-
I am green with envy. The V-3 was a great camera. I am sure you will enjoy it a lot. Have a great day! Sarah Joyce |

Well, I hope so. The reviews have pointed out the fact thatthe V3tendsto choose f8.0 when there is no need for and as a result, images loose some definition. Here'swhat I don't understand about Sony...with the V3 being considered such a great camera, why wouldn't they fix this issue via a firmware upgrade? It should notbe that difficultbecause this type of behavior isrelated to an algorithm as opposed tophysical factors such as lens, sensor, etc.

Tullio-
Regarding the needed Sony V-3 firmware update:it seems like Sony pushes out somany new cameras each year, that firmware updates, sort of get lost in the dust, or just forgotten. Since the has not been much activity on this thread, lately, here is a photo taken once more with the H-3 and of Bradley (thank God, my husband is so patient). I set up to test what the H-3 documentation advertized as a "fill flash capability" done by using the Slow Flash mode and the H-3's built-in flash. Sarah Joyce ![]() |
