Tullio-
Thanks for the very honest evaluation. I for one, will follow closely as you evaluate the E-520. I agree with you regarding the quality of the Zuiko lenses. They are excellent. Sarah Joyce |

Nice shots Cyber, Sarah and Tullio, just read the just posted review by Steveof the H-50 and the shots I've seen posted here and elsewhere leads me to believe it is a vast improvement over the H-9.

Thanks, Wirraway. I never had the H9 but I did buy the H50 hoping for the best. To be honest, it did not cut for me. The PanaFZ18 is a far superior camera in every respect. I still love my H1, though!

Tullio and Ian-
That is the same conclusion I have come to. The H-50 is better than the H-7/H-9 twins, but not by much. It is going back on Monday. Sarah Joyce |

Tullio & Sarah
Ok, you guys have had the H50 and I respect your views, I am still happy with the performance of the H5, but am about to add the DSC-W300, as the wife has the W100 full time. :-( Camera: Sony DSC-H5 |

Nice shot, Wirraway. From what I've read, the H5 is probably one of the best cams of the H series (although I still believe the H2 beats them all).
Sarah, I don't blame you. I sent the H50 back after a mere three days. I think I'm done with the P&S for now. I have the H1, V3 and R1. The V3 is probably the worst of the three (despite what people say)and I'm seriously considering getting rid of it. As for DSLRs, the A300 is a very good camera and I just got a Tamron 28-300mm xr di lens, which I like it a lot. |

Happy to see your still full on with your photography Tullio, yes I agree as to Sarah's tests before that the DSC-H2 was thepick of the H series.

Hi wirraway-
Great boating shot with the H-5. I don't use my H-5 as much as I should. I still have the 3 H-2 cameras that I let students use in class. People lok the H-2 and find it very easy to use. Have a great day and a wonderful week ahead. Sarah Joyce |

With my new Tamron 28-300mmon the A300, I can get more range than with the H1 with better IQ, faster flash recycle time, etc, etc, etc (of course I can't compare the H1 with the A300 in any way). So, I'm thinking that perhaps the time has come for me to sell the H1 and keep the R1 as my onlyP&S.
Here's another R1 shot |

I really like that Sony R-1 sunset shot a lot. Could you have done the same thing with the A-300 and the new 28-300mm lens? You know me, I am still fighting the bulk and weight of a DSLR kit. Sarah Joyce |
