That's interesting. I just ordered the FZ28. I had the FZ18 and at one point, the H50 (for only a few days). I found the H50 AF to hunt quite a bit compared to the FZ18. How do you like the FZ28?

Tullio-
The FZ-28 is an excellent camera. My only qualm is that it becomes slower to focus as the light level decreases. Here is an FZ-28 sample. Sarah Joyce |

That's not very encouraging, Sarah. How do you have the AF set on your FZ28? One thing I had noticed on the FZ18 was that the fast AF setting was not totally accurate 100% of the time. Some times it would miss focus. So, I used spot focus all the time. It was not as fast but it certainly was accurate.

Tullio-
I switched the FZ-28 over to spot focus last night and got much better results. Here is how it looks. Thanks. Sarah Joyce |

My pleasure. Your image does look sharp, specially considering the low light condition.

I know there are quote a lot of Opera House photos, here's another one, sorry to bore you guys.
![]() (Sony DSC H9, no zoom) It was actually a test shoot for Sony Wide Conversion Lens (VCL-DH0774). Turns out that I really like it. Here's the one with the wide angle lens, in case you are interested. ![]() (Sony DSC H9, 0.75x with Wide Conversion Lens) |

Nice shots, Antony. I find WA converters to be more useful for small areas or when you are too close to the scene and can not capture all at the 36mm. In this case, the gain does not appear to be that significant but the image has become a lot smaller.

Thanks Tullio.
I agree that a wide angle convertor can be very useful in a number of situations. The only complaint I have is its weight. |
