I have the Raynox DCR-6600 WA converter and find it to be compact and light. I'm not sure about the Sony converter, though. The Sony Tele converter is light compared to the TCON 17 or even worse, the TCON 14B (now, that's one heavy tele converter!).

Here's the one with the wide angle lens, in case you are interested.

But the distortion in the right side is very clear...

The Sony Wide Conversion Lens (VCL-DH0774) weighs 362 g, it is quite heavy when you compare to Sony DSC H9 which only weighs 474 g. (measured on my kitchen scale.) The centre of mass suddenly shift to the front once you attach the wide angle conversion lens.
