I went on a waterfall hunt in Hawaii last year. Here is Kuai's Wailua Falls, note the fact that you are looking down on the rainbow in the mist.

Sarah this is Rainbow Falls on Hilo (The Big Island) We were lucky enough to hit all the Islands without getting rained on once. I love the lush vegetation in the rain forests.

Hi Mr Edinarea51-
Thanks for posting. It nice to see some added activity on this thread. Yes, my husband and I love Hawaii. You have some great waterfall photos. Here is a nice Hawaiian sunset done with the H-3. Sarah Joyce |

I really like that shot, sometimes the more subtle sunset shots are the best.
I especially like that point in time around dusk after a rain. Where the the light is such, that everything is aglow, like your in a very (I want to say a magenta mist ) but it's a combination of the super high humidity caused by the rainfall evaporating and the air is Sauna like and the it is so dense with moisture that it picks up light from the setting sun on the red end of the spectrum. I've only experienced this phenomena twice the second time it happened I had my camera but alas the I failed to capture what I was seeing, I was so disappointed. I still don't understand why the images did not reflect that glow. Here is a wonderful shot of a young Cardinal, that allowed me to get very close to it, sometimes you luck out and get that moment. |

Mr Edinarea51-
That is a great shot of the juvenile Cardinal. Yes, you are so correct, every once in awhile you get lucky and come away with the perfect shot. Very well done! Sarah Joyce |

I haven't done any research but just by looking at the numbers, I believe this is probably the most viewed thread in this forum (I don't know how it compares to other heavily viewed threads in other forums here at Steve's). Anyway, I haven't received email notifications from this thread in a long while (not sure why since I'm still a subscriber) so I decided to stop by and see what has been posted recently. Unfortunately not much has been posted here this year. I really liked the waterfall shots (I can only imagine how beautiful that place must be live!). The bird shot is also impressive, with the feathers showing lots of details. Well done.
Just to keep the thread alive, here is shot of my fav. statue I took with my R1 this past w/e in my backyard.

That's a real nice shot. You can use Picasa (by Google - it's a free photo editor in case you are not familiar with it) to re-size your images. It's very easy to use.
