i asked the same question earlier. I think Steve should have subsections for each SOny Camera within the Sony area.

I had trouble finding a pouch that was small enough yet still the right shape and not too expensive. I got the Sony semi-soft one and thought it was huge! About as big as a sunglass case. The one I got that I am happy with is the iPod case from Timbuk2 for $20 (http://www.timbuk2.com/tb2/catalog/c...?categoryId=13). This seems to fit it perfectly and does not add any extra bulk, yet hopefully protects it enough. The only thing is that it has a little slit in the top for ipod wires to come out of, but I think I can easily stitch that up.
Hope this helps! |

Here are some pics of the LCM-PHA case. I bought it onlne at Buy.com. To me the case is very good at protection. It is easily rugged enoughto withstand reasonable trauma. Camera will be plenty safe from drops and bumps in here. It's light and for me, the size is just fine. It comes with a wrist strap, a shoulder strap, and a small(useless) velcro bag for accessories. There is plent of room inside to put extra memory cards. The back as shown can be looped to your belt.

Thanks for the pictures. That does look like a nice rugged case.
So this is what I've found and I've placed them next to each other to compare. Sony LCM-PHA Semi-Soft Carrying Case Width - 3.1 in, Depth - 2.1 in, Height - 5.7 in Sony LCS-PHE Soft Carrying Case Width - 2.8 in, Depth - 1.6 in, Height - 4.7 in Both of these at buy.com are the same price at $37.99. Even though the semi-hard case will protect the camera better, I'm probably going to get the slightly smaller leather case since I also like the fact that it doesn't have a zipper but a flip open top. That'll make it easier to keep on my belt and be taking the camera in and out. I also looked at a Body Glove case from Comp-USA that looks protective yet cheap in price and with a flip up top that clicks shut. Next time I go to Comp USA, I'll take a look and see if it is a nice one and from the looks of it, it is as small as the leather case above. Comp USA: Body Glove Compact Digital Camera Case Inside dimensions: 4 3/4h x 2 3/4w x 1 1/8d Mfg Part #: 74690 Product Number: 50350498 $6.20 |
