Over 90 views and still no comments?? Come on people, don't be afraid to give your comments...

My commentsare quite simple, on first impressions, I thought the pictures look like poo:(... after further reading I'm kinda back on the fence:roll:.... so it remains to be seen how the H9 will perform.... just a few more weeks..

Oh ya, the movies looked not too bad, the fine movies that is, focus sucked.

Trying to sneak some images out of a display camera must have been a stressful adventure.

All images of the flowers shot with flash have to be thrown out due to the background comprising mosty of two LCD TV's set at an angle to the camera. Any Pre-flash on these surfaces would have been directed away from the camera, thereby fooling the camera's metering to throw more light, and as a result the white artificial flowers are either burned out or their detail has been overcome with a flood of flash.

The full table shot ( no flash, ISO 100 ) with the flowers in front of the two TV's:

On the left TV's upper left you can read 'Bravia'; on the right of the image you can read 'Sortie'; in the center you can see the dust on the table cloth and the creases on the cloth backdrop behind the flowers. Not bad for an underexposed shot. The lens seems pretty good. Can't wait until I get my H9.

More new samples (warning original size images posted, big):?

I'm sure you guys already know this, but for the few uniformed, the camera has started shipping in Canada , as well as a few other countries (except for the USA, no confirmation yet on ship notices:roll:)

Looking forward to your comments....

Thanks Buda,

Very interesting shots.

My observation as a flower photog?

The worst light to capture botanical subjects is in direct sunlight, (#'s 1,2,3.)

Forget #1 & 2. Mean nothing to me.

#3 is extremely good for such lighting and not knowing all the variables.

#4 is pretty darn good, seems as filmand not digital.

Anyone shipping yet? Confirmed?

My H9 status status is the same as my last report.

Hi Buda and All,

I looked over these again.

The spot of dirt on the first image (Leaf) is actually this:

Photo credits as stated above by Buda.

A 100% crop and Levels and bit of USM:

Amazing, ( so far ).

Hi there!
I've just got my H9 and I've started playing with it.
First impressions
-awsome technology, bunch of gadgets bundled in a relatively small camera.
- good quality pictures(vivid colors,sharp)
-I love the HD displaying, can't stop watching pictures on my TV.
-the camera's LCD display is a state of the art,it can't be compared with my laptop's monitor(HP NX6110).

-purple fringing
- poor ergonomics(needs delicate fingers for navigating using the arrows.)
I've posted few samples on "Flickr" with few comments for every picture:

I'm sure a lot of you have been watching and reading the boards here and at Dpreview and I'm sure a lot of you are now awhere that there is a serious problem with Image Quality with the H9, if your currently on the fence as to whether you should purchase this camera or not, I suggest you wait and see, see if Sony will do anything to fix the processing mess they have created for this camera, if you already purchased the camera and are wondering if you should return it, then by all means, return it if you can, you can always buy it again if the situation warrents. If your like me and can't return the camera, all we can do is bug Sony to death to come out with a firmware update.

I personally love all the features on this camera, but the IQ in a lot of my pictures (as well as many others) is just not up to par.

Here's a little bit of reading I'm sure all of you will enjoy. Looks like Sony was trying to implement something that went really bad for them and this camera.

As I said before, if you have the H7/H9 and can't return it, CALL SONY NOW, make a complaint, and DEMAND a FIRMWARE FIX!!!
