![]() Hi just bought a Sony DSC-P120. Has anybody else found that when the camera is powered up and the lens is fully extended, there is a lot of play on the lens barrel, is this normal or do I have a faulty camera. Thanks Assad |

assad,
When I upgraded recently from a Sony P52 (with a "2x optical zoom that was contained within the camera, no external barrel) I tested several others. The first was a P93 Sony and I was horrified by the cheap feeling loose lens. It actually rattled as you moved the camera about....the images were fine though. Then I tried a Canon A75 and the lens was quite firm. Next I tried a Sony V1 and that lens was loose but not as bad as the P93. Finally I tried the Sony P10 which I kept. The lens on this still rattles but less than the other Sonys. I guess it is a feature you have to put up with for the nice images and fast operation of the Sony range. I'd rather it didn't happen though! David |
