I recently purchased a Sony DSC-P72 and I seem to be taking a lot of blurry photos, particularily when I do any zooming. When I check the shutter speed it is registering really low 1/8 or 1/13. How do I correct this? Craig

The shutter speeds you state are probably too low to handhold a camera when the lens is zoomed to telephoto. The old rule is to not attempt handholding a camera when the shutter speed is below that of the focal length of the lens, e.g. one should not attempt a handhold of a 100mm lens below 1/125 of a second and so on. To get around this you could increase the ISO, or use a tripod. Pardon me if this is old material, however I did not see a reply to your post.

I think u are talking about interior photos. It looks like u only turn the flash off  Because the slowest time that camera sets with flash on is 1/30.

I do not think it is problem with flash.
If you talking about moving object then it is problem. P-72 do not have SPORT mode and indor picture has to slow shotter. Fast shotter activate on sunlight when take pictures of the sky. Indor pictures with or without flash has slow shotter. If it is not fast moving object then try keep your hand still and use halfpress button to focus first. I have P-12 and I solve problem with it using SPORT mode. No more bloor pictures. But if I could take another camera I would buy Canon A-60, A-70 or A-80. They are allmost same but resolution is diferent. |
