Update to my previous posts in this thread:
Itook the time to track down the flash specs in the T5 and T7 manuals (even verifying them with the specs shown at some of the overseas Sony sites). As I suspected, the flash range is virtually identical. Sony's marketing specs are wrong (as they have been in the past with some of these models). They've got one set of specs in the marketing material (including the specs on the Sonystyle web site), that disagree with the actual user manuals, anddisagree with some of the specs on overseasSony sites. In the case of the T7, it was probably due to a typo. Someone probably typed 1.6 meters versus 2.6 meters, and then someone else converted meters to feet for the marketing specs. The T7 is still incorrect on most specs used for marketing purposes, except for the actual user manuals. Of course, the T5 Marketing Specs are misleading, too (as they gave the wide angle flash range only). Here are the accurate specs: T7: Recommended distance (ISO set to Auto): 0.1m to 2.6m (3 1/16 inches to 8 feet 6 3/8 inches) (W) 0.5m to 2.1m (1 feet 7 11/16 inches to 6 feet 10 11/16 inches) (T) T5: Recommended distance (ISO set to Auto): approx. 0.1m to 2.5m (3 15/16 iinches to 8 feet 2/716 inches (W) approx. 0.5m to 2.0m (1 feet 7 11/16 inches to 6 feet 6 3/4 inches) (T) |
