i've have w1 for about a year now, but never thought of asking this question before.
it seems that what i take photos at 3x zoom (optical) they come out a lot softer
than they should.
they are just not sharp enough, no matter the size of the picture.

is it normal?
does it happen to w1's carl zeiss lens, or is it a problem every camera of that size and capabilities have?

This a great camera. All I can say is rest the lens stiff more when aiming. achieve higher shutter speed. Theres a good setting out there. I dont know about it.

Umm i would say the images appear softer maybe bcse its harder to hold the cam absolutely still while the zoom is at 3times. Just like about try taking a photo with fast shutter or from a tripod and see if the issue is still there

The softness you observe at full 3x zoom may be due to imperfect focus, or motion blur due to camera shake.

Solution for the imperfect focus is quite tough. For camera shake, options are afaster shutter speed or taking photos form a good tripod mount.

Note that even clicking on the button can produce some camera motion... :|
